We have all heard the stories from some people who claim to have “saved a fortune” by booking direct on the Internet. While we doubt that this is true, what about the countless stories of people being ripped off, not getting the services that they thought they paid for, or indeed being stuck in a foreign country with heavy suitcases and no accommodation at all?
